5 facts about vaping devices and e-cigarettes

If you are a smoker and have tried to quit the smoking habit, you are not alone.Nearly 7 in 10 smokers say they want to stop. Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health. Smoking harms almost every organ in the body, including the heart. Nearly a third of deaths from heart disease are the result of smoking or passive smoking.

You may be tempted to turn to e-cigarettes (e-cigarettes, vape pens and other vapedevices) as a way to facilitate the transition from traditional cigarettes to quitting. But is smoking e-cigarettes also called vaping or inhaling water vapor through a vaporizer better for you than using traditional tobacco products? Can e-cigarettes help you stop smoking?

The five main facts about e-cigarettes or vaping are:

1. Vaping is less harmful than smoking

E-cigarettes heat nicotine (derived from tobacco) enriched with air fresheners and other chemicals to create water vapor that you inhale through an evaporator device.
